From The City Into The Jungle / The Blue Monk
(Album Online Release / 2011 / Deja-Tunes / GER)

Direction: Jazz / Downbeat / Roots / Hip Hop

Pierce Vaughn, a.k.a. The Blue Monk, began working as a producer at the age of thirteen, building Hip Hop beats with his older brother. This quickly turned into an obsession, as he transformed the basement into a central laboratory for music, mixing samples and live recorded instruments. Since then he has worked with a range of talented musicians, including Hip Hop artist Siafa MC, vocal protégé Millane Fernandez, reggae artist Jah Rose and world-renowned trumpeter Larry Elam.

If you asked Pierce Vaughn a.k.a The Blue Monk what kind of music he makes, his answer would be “Alien Beat Root Music”. Alien because of his childhood experience being abducted by E.Ts.; hovering above the Earth in alien space-crafts, communicating with strange beings from distant galaxies. Beat Root because of his organic sound, always rising from the root. Exactly this is what his debut album From The City Into The Jungle’ mirrors. Hip Hop, Jazz & Dope Beat music.

Contemporary Low Frequenzies Pt.2  on Deja-Tunes by Deja-Tunes

Contemporary Low Frequenzies Pt.2 / Various Artists
(Compilation Online Release / 2011 / Deja-Tunes / GER)

Direction: Jazz / Dub / Deephouse / Downbeat

Contemporary Low Frequenzies - here comes part two of our outstanding compilation

series.

CLF is a journey through the green pastures of Jazz influenced music. Riding from

dubbed out Deep House to Electronica music, shortly passing by the Hip Hop grounds

to arrive in the beautiful fields of Downtempo and Brazilian music.

Atmospheric piano lines meet organic shakers, spoken word and smooth singers are

melting with semi acoustic jazz guitars and warm flute solos. What more does it take to

make a selection of tracks as high-class and creamy as it can be? All of these elements

are meeting up for a session on the plateau of electronic beats! This selection is

reflecting past Acid Jazz times the same as today’s ‘Contemporary Low Frequenzies

styles. Again Deja-Tunes comes up with a fine selection of exclusive and unreleased

tunes.

Many producers and DJ friends around the Deja-Tunes collective brought in their tracks

for CLF. Richard E & Annabel (lee) from L.A. are introducing the mix with their mystic

track ‘My Mistake’, followed up by riccicomoto’s (Ibiza Global Radio) cinematic “up da

jazz” beat ‘Frisco Pursuite’. Michael Sauer from the Mojo Club hits us with his driving

House beat ‘Hey Woman’, and Karbunck Lottinger’s reinterpretation of Sir Henry's

Mono Jazz Orchestra (Henrik Rabe's project / Wareika) features the artful side of uptempo

Jazz-floor music.

A special idea about this compilation is that it is built like a mixtape! We have added a

complete-mix at the end of the compilation - for your pleasure. Madball Scientists are

serving their cool Downbeat track ‘Sometimes It’s Voodoo’ into our speakers and The

Bas Lexter Ensample will make us feel like ‘The Champions’ with the same-named

soulful Rare Groove track. More sweetness comes from: Channel Two, Supreme

Chord Jesters, The Blue Monk, Jeremin, Renegades of Jazz, Tobitob Sessionlab

and Christoph Isermann.

CLF is finishing with a real beauty of Brazilian music by Janice,
leading to the final track

Lovetheme’ by Burning Simitkovic. Come and join this excellent
selection of music

with us. Play and press repeat. Chin Chin!

The Bas Lexter Ensample - My Baby Wants To Move - EP by Deja-Tunes

The Bas Lexter Ensample / My Baby Wants To Move
(EP Online Release / 2011 / Deja-Tunes / GER)

Direction: Latin / Funk / Jazz / Dub

The amazing Bas Lexter Ensample is coming back to hit you with his new EP ‘My

Baby Wants To Move’

- six beautifully crafted tunes.

This record is dedicated to all the

soulful dancefloors around the world - from L.A. to Buenos

Aires to Tokyo. After his

cinematic and sixties beat influenced albums ‘And The Beat Goes On’ and his debut

album ‘Truncate It Right’

Bas Lexter is ready for the next step and wants to make us

move.

The Hanover/Germany based musician and producer comes up with a winning variety

of
styles again. Infusing the music with his 'real' music lover vibe. This EP starts up with

the killer Latin Jazz track 'Celias Baile', which will put you in the mood for another drink

from the beachfront bar. The Mexican horns in the chorus will make you party hard.

You'll be ordering another Tequila in next to no time! That's then followed by the

powerful and souldriven 'Dry July', which will get all ladies shaking their ‘thing’ to the

Bas Lexter groove.

If you had to describe his musical style, then it would be ‘Soul, Downbeat, Reggae,

Easy Listening and always a touch of Jazz’. Bas Lexter is a ‘shy cat’, he was

discovered by Nokia France and had tracks released on different 12” records

(Resense/Yo Mama/Universal). Beyond that, this multitalented artist has produced

tracks for Ganesha & Ragga D, as well as Asher D./Music of Life.

The 'Casino’ track could soundtrack a ‘gangster-poker-night’, breaking down with an

Indian flavour, a true pearl of a track. ‘Akeni’, a short interlude with a slow Drum n Bass

feeling, is surrounded by some cheeky ethno sounds. Then comes the Bas Lexter

Reggae side, in the form of ‘In die Knie’, which should remind you of the good old

‘Studio 1’ times. It's a deep and dubbed-out one for the lovers. Final cut on the EP is a

remix from Aaron Bingle, a.k.a. Deja-Move, his downbeat project. Bingle reshaped the

Easy Listening track 'Nipponside Winder' into a dancefloor version, a simple, cool and

swinging beat. Please get your next round of ‘Gin Fizz on ice’ in your favourite bar.

Deja-Move - In The Meantime I Have Cooked Some Vegetables on Deja-Tunes by Deja-Tunes

Deja-Move / In The Meantime I Have Cooked Some Vegetables
(Album Online Release / 2011 / Deja-Tunes / GER)

Direction: Broken / Soul / Reggae / Downbeat

Deja-Move is coming up with a new and tremendous longplayer – ‘In The Meantime I Have Cooked Some Vegetables’.

One of the most untrue facts about Deja-Move is that many critics declaimed his music to be made of well known samples. The truth is that Aaron Bingle (known from Hotel Costes and Brazilectro) - who runs the project since 2001 - has been playing and recording the music in his Octupuss studio. All in all you can say that Deja-Move is handmade music, and maybe that is why the project got such a good recommendation in the Downbeat and Lounge music scenes. Deja-Move's music got released on more than 80 compilations worldwide on labels such like Sony/ BMG, Universal and Embassy of Music.

His 5th album combines elements of Soul, Reggae & Dub, Balkan, Downbeat, Hip Hop and Chill Out music. Deja-Move starts to step away from the world of strictly Lounge music into playing around with more different styles again, always keeping the Deja vibe in the focus.

The album is starting up with the Brazil and Soul influenced track 'Bring it Back' feat. Jazz singer MsJames from L.A.. Followed up by 'The Fever', a piece of classical Soul music combined with modern synthesizer sounds, that has got a heavy hip-swinging note to it. You can find remix works like ‘Hey You’ from Frenchman Alan De Laniere. This track is an excursions into the Balkan music style that has hit Bingle while his work as a DJ. On the Downbeat side you will find the lovely & bittersweet remix of ‘S'posed To Be’ by Channel Two with ‘Joy Jones’. For the pure sweetness, Reggae and Dub lovers might feel the ‘Deja Love Dub’ and a rework of 'Justify' from Hanover's Roots Reggae Band The Vision. The remix of Nfa`s ‘Get Doh’ is a surprising step into Australians Hip Hop culture. ‘In The Meantime I have Cooked Some Vegetables’ finishes up with two smoothed out tracks. ‘Shade of Pearls’, a lovley ballad with a Hip Hop Beat underneath, sung by Hamburg’s Neele Ternes. And finally ‘Rotten’ that is featuring guest-artist Helen Naomie Schmidt.
