Channel Two. Im Jahre 2002 kollaborierten die beiden Produzenten und Musiker Andreas Bingel (Hamburg, D) und Terence Yoshiaki (Los Angeles, U.S.A.) erstmals gemeinsam an einem Stück Namens ‚Across Waters‘, das auf verschiedenen Compilations weltweit veröffentlicht wurde, (darunter Watermusicrecords U.S.A, 5000 Records U.K.). Das Produzententeam hinter dem Projekt ‚Channel Two‘ war geboren.
Terence Yoshiaki war Gründungsmitglied & Drummer bei der mehrfach mit Platin ausgezeichneten Hip-Hop Band, den ‚Black Eyed Peas‘, und half der Band, den Grundstein für ihre Visionen und ihren Sound zu definieren. Yoshiaki schrieb auch an der mit dem Grammy ausgezeichneten Top 10 Hit Single ‚Lets Get It Started / B.E.P‘ mit, welche der Band ebenso die Grammynominierungen in den Kategorien ‚Best Rap‘, als auch ‚Record of the Year‘ einbrachte.
Andreas Bingel, Künstler und Produzent, begann seine Musikkarriere 1995 mit dem ‚Ich-Zwerg‘ Projekt und veröffentlichte bis 2000 auf Mercury Records eine E.P., ein Album und zwei Singles mit Videos, die auf MTV und Viva gespielt wurden. Bingel komponiert, spielt und produziert seine Songs. 2001 startete er das Deja-Move / Downbeat Projekt, veröffentlichte erfolgreich das Album ‚Sunday‘ auf 5000 Records in London. Ebenso in 2001 begann er das Aaron Bingle / Uptempo Projekt, fertigte internationale Remixes an (DR. Robert, Brown, Smith & Grey) und veröffentlichte eine Vielzahl von Songs weltweit auf Compilations bei Labels wie z.B. Sony Music (D), Wagram (F), Universal (F).
Beide Produzenten, Terence, wie auch Andreas brachten Ihr gesamtes Wissen und ihre weitreichenden Kontakte ein, um das ‚Channel Two‘ Projekt so stylish zu machen, wie ein niveauvolles, modernes Soundkonzept nur sein kann. Durch Ihre Kombinationsstärke aus ‚American Soul Music‘ und ‚European Electro Music‘, erreichen sie genau dieses Level. ‚Wir wollen einfach das Gefühl von guter Musik transportieren, unabhängig vom Label auf dem es erscheint, oder Genre dem es zugeordnet wird‘, sagt Andreas. ‚Unser musikalischer Geschmack ist weitgestreut und ergänzt sich sehr gut. ‚Es ist ein Plattform- und ein Netzwerkgedanke, der dieses internationale Projekt so einzigartig macht‘, sagt Terence. ‚Wir berühren und vermischen verschiedene Musikstile – man bekommt Hip-Hop orientierte, aber auch smoothe Loungesounds zu hören. Die Musik klingt durchgängig wie aus einem Guß, obwohl wir mit einer großen Anzahl von Musikern zusammenarbeiteten und viele der Spuren an verschiedenen Orten und zu verschiedenen Zeiten aufnahmen.‘
Channel Two. In 2002, producers / musicians Aaron Bingle (Hanover, Germany) and Terence Yoshiaki (Los Angeles, U.S.A.) first collaborated on a song called ‚Across Waters‘, which has since been featured on various compilations in both Europe & the U.S..
Terence Yoshiaki was a founding member & drummer of the multi-platinum recording artists, The Black Eyed Peas, and helped to define a groundbreaking sound and vision for the group. Yoshiaki also co-penned the Grammy winning Top 10 hit single, ‚Let’s Get It Started‘, which earned him a 2004 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song and Record Of The Year.
Aaron Bingle started his music career with the Ich-Zwerg project in 1995, signed to Mercury Records (Germany) in 1998-2001 releasing an EP, album and two singles with videos being played on MTV and Viva (Germany) to create his first buzz. Since then, he’s started the Deja-Move/ Downbeat project in 2001, simmered the industry with the albums, Sunday (5000 Records) out of London and Remember The Past (SPV). Bingle also released a huge number of songs worldwide through compilations on labels such as Sony Music (Germany), Wagram (France), Universal (France) and many other international imprints.
Producers Terence and Aaron both brought in their knowledge and wide range of contacts to make Channel Two as stylish as any other nouveau sound-system can be. Between their combining strengths of American Soul Music and European Electro Music, it’s bound to happen. ‚We want to transport the feeling of good music regardless of the label or genre that may be put on it,‘ says Aaron. ‚Our musical tastes are so widespread yet very similar, so that after 3 years of visiting each other, sharing ideas and files and working out the music in both of our own studios, it was time to let the people listen to our own slice of musical thought.‘
